Carry each other"s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

Women of Worship is a group of men and women with a desire to express love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We hunger for God's word, support one another in prayer and desire a closer relationship with Him.

Heather and I feel that God has put a genuine desire in our hearts to share His word with people. This blog is our attempt to get the Word of God to our friends in a practical and loving way. We are hoping to create a community of people that strengthen one another for the Kingdom of God. No matter where you are in your walk you are welcome here. Please feel free to share prayer requests, opinions, questions or anything that you feel led to say.

Yearn, Day 4

I recently heard a testimony about the underground church in China. In China it is illegal to be a Christian. The Church there operates in secret, understanding that every man, women and child risks their lives to fellowship together.

Because of the secrecy, there is usually one Bible shared among many believers. Each family is given a page to read for the week and bring back at the next meeting. Most people completely memorize their entire page, front and back. They don't know the next time they will see those words again. They will even eat the page to prevent it from getting into the wrong hands.

I have 11 different Bibles on my book shelves. That is approximately 25,000 pages of God's inspired word. Do I cherish them? I have enough pages to last me a lifetime of weekly reading. Do I devour them?

Hebrews 12:28-29 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be
shaken, let us be thankful, and so
worship God acceptably with reverence and
awe
, for our "God is a consuming fire."

When I hear about how the people in China will die for their faith, I am in awe. When I think about their desire for God's word, my excuses fall away. We are so blessed as Americans to fill our homes with God's word, we are so blessed to drive to church to fellowship on Sundays, we are so blessed to have Sunday school, small groups, bible studies, prayer meetings, and worship services. Does all of this blessing make you complacent to the very God you say you Love?
