This morning I drove by a local church with a giant canvas banner posted on it's front entry way
"Revival 7pm"
In small print it says, every night this week. I am still new to the Southern Church Revivals and will honestly admit I have never been to one. It made me wonder what it means. At dicitonary.com it says :
5. | an awakening, in a church or community, of interest in and care for matters relating to personal religion. |
6. | an evangelistic service or a series of services for the purpose of effecting a religious awakening: to hold a revival. |
You could say that Nehemiah's obedience and faith had led to a revival in Jerusalem. After they rebuilt the city, the people came together for the reading of the law and found that they were in desperate need of repentance. (Nehemiah 8,9)
A religious awakening. Community. Not only in the days of Nehemiah but today God is looking to transform lives. Not just one, but all. One persons obedience to a calling in their lives can lead to the revival of a community or even a nation. Are you ready? God desires to work through your life and bring revival.
Thank you for your continued prayers.
Please pray for Linda W and her family. Pray for her mother, as they find her appropriate care through her healing process. Pray for the financial burden and for direction in all the decisions that are needed to be made there.
Please pray for Mike and Chrissy. They lost their 3 yr old baby girl last week in a tragic accident. Pray for comfort. Pray for protection in their marriage.
Please continue to pray for healing in Joanne A. Chemo is providing a successful tool in this fight. Continue to pray for strength and direction.
Please pray for Holly and Michael. They have taken in a 2 month old foster child who was picked up from the teen age mother attempting to sell him for drugs on the steps of a bank. Pray for the young girl that has lost her way.
Please pray for the upcoming Canvas Women's Retreat as all of the details come together. Pray that I be sensitive to the message God wants me to share. Angela.
