Carry each other"s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

Women of Worship is a group of men and women with a desire to express love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We hunger for God's word, support one another in prayer and desire a closer relationship with Him.

Heather and I feel that God has put a genuine desire in our hearts to share His word with people. This blog is our attempt to get the Word of God to our friends in a practical and loving way. We are hoping to create a community of people that strengthen one another for the Kingdom of God. No matter where you are in your walk you are welcome here. Please feel free to share prayer requests, opinions, questions or anything that you feel led to say.

Father - Economy

During these hard times in our economy, those who have always provided for their families are no longer working. What can we do in this society, where hard working people are meshing with those who refuse to work?

Father's have been providing for their families since the beginning of Man. There are several examples in the Bible where lazy men did not work. These fathers failed to provide for their families because they chose laziness over hard work.

The Bible shows us examples of other men who would encourage those who were lazy. As a community, every man could be a valuable resource, just like today. Laborers or volunteers, we need them all. Those who labor for income receive a wage, where those who volunteer for the kingdom will be given even more. These men would shame others to do what is expected of them.

Proverbs 6:6Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones.
Learn from their ways and become wise!
7 Though they have no prince
or governor or ruler to make them work,
8 they labor hard all summer,
gathering food for the winter.
9 But you, lazybones, how long will you sleep?
When will you wake up?
10 A little extra sleep, a little more slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest—
11 then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit;
scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.

Laziness is not an excuse. If you find yourself unemployed, it is a good time to get to work, volunteer, take care of the things that need to be done around the house, don't be lazy.

Paul Rebuked those who considered themselves Christian, but did not look after the needs of their families.

1 Timothy 5:8 But those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers.

Thank you for praying for Erika M. Thank you also for praying for Angela, her travels went well. Please send your prayer requests or praises for tomorrows devotional. Also, if you would like to write a devotional in this series, both Angela and I would love to give you that opportunity. Please continue to pray for Grandma Joanne during this first round of Chemo.
