Carry each other"s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

Women of Worship is a group of men and women with a desire to express love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We hunger for God's word, support one another in prayer and desire a closer relationship with Him.

Heather and I feel that God has put a genuine desire in our hearts to share His word with people. This blog is our attempt to get the Word of God to our friends in a practical and loving way. We are hoping to create a community of people that strengthen one another for the Kingdom of God. No matter where you are in your walk you are welcome here. Please feel free to share prayer requests, opinions, questions or anything that you feel led to say.

Zeal, Day 2

Zeal, Day 2

Zeal: Good or Bad?

Proverbs 19:2 Zeal without knowledge is not good; a person who moves too quickly may go the wrong way.

Are you guilty of this? Do you sometimes move hastily through life, rushing headlong into the unknown? I have experienced this just recently.

Life is still supposed to happen right. So what if a major obstacle gets in the way. I have stuff to do, commitments I have made. I don't have time for this right now. I think I am chewing on those words still, kind of hard to swallow now.

It is true though. many times, Zeal gets us into trouble when we don't have the knowledge to back it up. Think of someone who may have married before they knew what to expect of their partner or of married life. Those who try things without considering the consequences first (drugs or sex for example). Some plunge head first into jobs that promise much but forget to evaluate whether or not they are suitable for the requirements of the job. Rushing into the unknown is a scary thing. Beginning with knowledge is the most important step. You must know what you are getting into and where you want to go before you enthusiastically devote yourself, eagerly desire something, or offer single-minded allegiance to something that won't be there through eternity.

If you find yourself moving too quickly into something that is unknown. Don't forget to check yourself first. Are you following the Word of God?

Ask yourself;
Where does my devotion belong, and is it enthusiastic. Does it replace my devotion to God or does it line up?
Am I eagerly desiring this? What is the desired outcome?
Where is my allegiance, with God or will this change my direction to put him first and foremost in my life?

Please continue to pray with me for Kelly H. (IA) this week.

Dear Lord,
May our Zeal in life be that of full enthusiasm, eagerness and devotion. May we have a desire for things that goes so deeply that we can see the end result. May our Zeal line up with your will in our lives. May your Word give us the knowledge we need to make the right choices and not run into the unknown, loosing our direction and focus. Amen.
