Vocation, Day 4
Where are you now?
Philippians 3:12Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
15All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. 16Only let us live up to what we have already attained.
17Join with others in following my example, brothers, and take note of those who live according to the pattern we gave you. 18For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things. 20But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
I hope you have enjoyed this weeks devotional. I hope you were able to see how God will use our testimonies and stories for the benefit of others. It has also served as a great encouragement and reminder of God's greatness.
Where are you now? Have you given yourself the chance to hear from God this week? Is God trying to tell you something, but you are not willing to listen? Have you told yourself that you are not the right one for the task? What about those of us that have decided to serve somewhere that is not our calling, have we been lead astray? I would love to suggest that you find a spiritual gifts test from your church or online and find out where you are gifted spiritually, pray for God to reveal his plan to you so that you may start using your abilities to serve him.
Dear Lord, I thank you for this week. For reminding me of the people you have put in my life to challenge me and to push me forward. I praise you that I have not yet obtained my greatest gift, that I have so much to look forward to because of you. May I bless you this week by allowing myself to serve you with all of my ability, may it please you. Lord, I pray for those who will read this, may they find encouragement through your word today. Amen.
Please continue to pray for Kathy L. this week. Tomorrow is Praise and Prayer Friday. How encouraging it will be to hear your praises. I look forward to carrying any burden through prayer to our Father on your behalf.
Carry each other"s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2
Women of Worship is a group of men and women with a desire to express love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We hunger for God's word, support one another in prayer and desire a closer relationship with Him.
Heather and I feel that God has put a genuine desire in our hearts to share His word with people. This blog is our attempt to get the Word of God to our friends in a practical and loving way. We are hoping to create a community of people that strengthen one another for the Kingdom of God. No matter where you are in your walk you are welcome here. Please feel free to share prayer requests, opinions, questions or anything that you feel led to say.
