Carry each other"s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

Women of Worship is a group of men and women with a desire to express love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We hunger for God's word, support one another in prayer and desire a closer relationship with Him.

Heather and I feel that God has put a genuine desire in our hearts to share His word with people. This blog is our attempt to get the Word of God to our friends in a practical and loving way. We are hoping to create a community of people that strengthen one another for the Kingdom of God. No matter where you are in your walk you are welcome here. Please feel free to share prayer requests, opinions, questions or anything that you feel led to say.

AnXious, Day 2

anXious, Day 2

The all powerful

Okay, so how many of us get a picture in our heads of the "perfect life"? In that picture, are we super powered, high-energy, 5% body fat solid rocks? If yes, then good luck to that. If no, then why do we work so hard at being perfect in these areas? I used to look at my life as a canvas that must be taken over by my powers and controlled by my every word. Yeah, seriously. I had some control issues. All the while I was trying to stay fit, have enough energy for a team to get done what I had scheduled and at the end of the day be showered with all the love and affection and admiration that I deserved. Wake up. In my anXious, over controlled life, I was expecting too much, leaving no time for God to be in control. It got so bad I couldn't go to bed if the dishes weren't all clean, laundry done and everything in it's place. I would lay in bed thinking of all the things I DID NOT accomplish instead of all the things I had. I was useless to my family as I did not schedule them in and my attitude was go, go, go. I did a great job of pushing everyone to the side. For what? The house is still cluttered, the laundry is always going to be there and let's face it, I have had 3 children, ate high fat foods, and enjoy eating, I am lucky to have 5% muscle tone. Okay, with that said, am I happier now, sure. I don't get all worked up if there is a pile of laundry or if the dishes don't get done. I see what I DID and how I didn't have enough time to get the normal things done because I was having fun with my family or ministering to a friend. That is what life is all about. Yeah, we all need schedules and we all need structure, obedience and cleanliness, but if it keeps us up at night, we need to take another look at what is most important. Now, the picture of a "perfect life" would be to be debt free, giving freely of my talents that God has given me, and knowing that my children know and serve the Lord. Now that is a perfect life. If they never learn to be a clean freak, I have done my job right. I look forward to tomorrow and it does me no good to worry about it. It will come whether I want it to or not. Really, all I have control over are my actions and I have given God everything else. Isn't it about time I start acting like He is in control? What about you? What is your story? Have you given in to worry, anXiety?

Here are some things we should think about.

Worry is putting question marks where God has put periods. - John R. Rice
Worry is the interest we pay on tomorrow's troubles. - E.Stanley Jones

Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? Matthew 6:27

Please pray for Janet J this week.
Dear Lord, I pray that we would all look at today as something to be grateful for, give back to you by using our talents and that we would be willing to alter a schedule or let something go if it means that someone would see Jesus because we stopped long enough to reflect him in our lives. Help us not to worry, to breath deeper and to release what is not rightfully ours to you, the one who promises to take our burden.

All mankind scratches for its daily bread, but your heavenly Father knows your needs. Luke 12:30
