Carry each other"s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

Women of Worship is a group of men and women with a desire to express love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We hunger for God's word, support one another in prayer and desire a closer relationship with Him.

Heather and I feel that God has put a genuine desire in our hearts to share His word with people. This blog is our attempt to get the Word of God to our friends in a practical and loving way. We are hoping to create a community of people that strengthen one another for the Kingdom of God. No matter where you are in your walk you are welcome here. Please feel free to share prayer requests, opinions, questions or anything that you feel led to say.

Testimony

Testimony, Day 1

Testimony or Kerugma - The message. Having especially to do with the effect on the hearers.

Matthew 19:19
Jesus replied, " 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,' and 'love your neighbor as yourself.' "

Just a few really important things to point out here.

The verse above reveals that Jesus was speaking, that he views our testimony as high importance and commands us not to give false testimony.

Reading through the Bible, particularly in the OT, you find that it only took 2-3 testimonies in order to have someone put to death, but that no one is to be put to death because of the testimony of one man. So I have a challenge this week. For women, it may be a little hard.
How often do we hear something (gossip) and trust it as fact? Have there been times that you judge someone harshly by what only one person has told you? This week, I want to challenge us to dig deeper in our communication with others. If there is a situation where gossip is taking place, I would like to ask you to make a commitment to stop the conversation. Yeah, it is hard sometimes, but think of the testimony. We give a testimony of God by our words and our actions. If we are going to be Christians, or Christ-Like, then we must do it at all times, including those intimate conversations we have with our closest friends and family. When we participate in gossip, we are joining in on what is being said, if we don't say anything about it, then we are basically agreeing with what is being said. If the word testimony is defined as message, what message to we want to send out in the world? What effect will it have on the hearers? I hope to encourage you to inspect your life this week and touch on the many aspects of the word Testimony. May we be blessed by His word.

Please pray for Ginny R. this week. Thank you.

Dear Lord, I pray that we will be challenged this week and that we will be open to change in the areas we are weak. Lord, I pray that your Word will speak life into our actions, that we may be a living testimony of your love and grace. Amen.
