Can we have tenacious obedience? A lost world needs to view our God. They are watching, looking at us and wondering what we are all about.
When they look at us, we need to be a reflection of our God, not a separate identity that takes away from God.
Daniel was pulled away from everything he had ever identified himself with and he was still a powerful witness to others. He was thrust into a world that promised him every desire to man. He was forced to learn their doctrine. God was with him. God does not leave us when we are going through trials.
God used Daniel and gave him wisdom and understanding even through the separation of his family and friends. He became a powerful force in the midst of Babylon. Through his integrity and faith, Daniel was able to view Babylon through God's eyes and through that, Babylon learned who Daniel's God, our God, is.
We must keep our identity in Christ so apparent, that no matter what label or name we are given, we can resolve to remain like Daniel. To resist temptations. They don't last forever, we must remember that we can outlast any temptation that comes our way, we can do it with integrity and perseverance. We live in a Babylon ourselves. Temptation is everywhere we turn, in TV, magazines, Internet, places of work, peer groups, etc...
Genesis 4:7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."
Can we become masters of temptation? Can we overcome when we are weak?
Dear Lord, I pray that we are more than just mouths. I pray that we put what we believe into action. If you can use a young man like Daniel to stand up for you and live with integrity, then you can surely use us to overcome things that come our way. You make us strong, you are our protector. Praise you for all that you are.
Carry each other"s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2
Women of Worship is a group of men and women with a desire to express love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We hunger for God's word, support one another in prayer and desire a closer relationship with Him.
Heather and I feel that God has put a genuine desire in our hearts to share His word with people. This blog is our attempt to get the Word of God to our friends in a practical and loving way. We are hoping to create a community of people that strengthen one another for the Kingdom of God. No matter where you are in your walk you are welcome here. Please feel free to share prayer requests, opinions, questions or anything that you feel led to say.
