Integrity

Proverbs 10:29
The way of the Lord is a stronghold to those with integrity,
but it destroys the wicked.

Have you read the book of Job? My goodness, he went through a lot. See God really knew that Job was a righteous man and Satan thought that he could win Job over.

Job 1:1
There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and that man was blameless, upright, fearing God and turning away from evil.

Read this commentary on Job's life:

He was persecuted. an Arabian patriarch who resided in the land of Uz. (q.v.). While living in the midst of great prosperity, he was suddenly overwhelmed by a series of sore trials that fell upon him. Amid all his sufferings he maintained his integrity. Once more God visited him with the rich tokens of his goodness and even greater prosperity than he had enjoyed before. He survived the period of trial for one hundred and forty years, and died in a good old age, an example to succeeding generations of integrity (Ezek. 14:14, 20) and of submissive patience under the sorest calamities (James 5:11). His history, so far as it is known, is recorded in his book.

Just think how the story would have been had he given in to the many things that were presented to him. Even his wife was against his integrity.

Job 2:9
Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die!"
10But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks.
Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips.

How are we doing in our lives today. Do we look at calamity, or hard times as ways to be upright and strong. Do we keep our integrity or do we crumble at the foot of Satan.

Dear Lord, I pray for strength for each of us so that our days will be longer and that we will die at a good old age with the legacy of integrity. May we be upright and on guard in the face of persecution and adversity. May you be glorified through our thoughts and actions. Amen.

Please continue to pray for Barbara today. Thank you. Don't forget to send us praises and Check Spellingprayers for Friday. May we all lift one another up through encouragement.
