Proverbs 10:3When reading this I have to say that I don't think of physical hunger, although that is what my study bible refers this scripture to. It makes me think about spiritual hunger.
The LORD does not let the righteous go hungry
but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.
Doesn't it seem that when we are consumed by our sin and following our flesh, there is little that satisfies? It is a constant need for more and a constant feeling of emptiness.
Scripture says that the Lord knows the desires of our hearts (Psalm 20:4, Psalm 21:2, Psalm 37:4). In Psalm 34 it says when we delight in the Lord he will give us the desires of our hearts. Do you believe that? It takes a little faith to know that when you speak a desire to serve, to have children, to be married, to travel that He answers those desires. He will feed that hunger in you when it comes from a place of righteousness.
What is it in your life that you hunger for? Do you believe God wants you to have that desire? Do you trust God's methods for fulfilling that hunger?
